Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Join to apply for the Veterinary Extern - General Practice role at NVA General Practice . This externship provides students with a unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of an NVA hospital and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. While each hospital is unique, all share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners. Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management. Externs will also have opportunities to develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate at Lafayette Veterinary Care Center.
