Instructional Aide

Kaufman ISD Print Shop Operator

Facilitate the operations of the Kaufman ISD print shop. Operate one or more types of duplicating machines and poster makers. Work under general supervision to provide printing need for the district.

Qualifications:

• Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and multi-task
• Set and meet deadlines
• Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate large volume printers and poster makers
• Ability to use personal computer
• High attention to detail / quality control
• Assist in equipment cleaning
• Ability to work well with staff and students
• Experience: Some experience working in a school setting

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Instructional Support: Assist in meeting the deadlines of printing request for the purpose of ensuring the prompt response to and delivery of printed materials to school sites and administrative departments.
• Maintain speed copying machines, equipment, tools, supplies and work area for the purpose of ensuring a safe work environment and the availability of equipment and supplies required to complete work requests.
• Operates a wide variety of print shop equipment (e.g. copiers, staplers, thermal binding, spiral binding, large paper cutting machine, etc.) for the purpose of completing printing requests from district personnel.
• Prepares jobs according to requested requirements (e.g. printing, collating, cutting, stapling, binding, packaging, etc.) for the purpose of packaging jobs for distribution to school site or administrative department.
• Prioritizes the department workload for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency.
• Schedule request for duplicating services received from school site staff (e.g. bulletins, newsletters, booklets, and special requests, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of completed materials by requested completion date.
• Maintain neat and orderly work area.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of print shop equipment.
• Attend training related to equipment used in the print shop.
• Order print shop supplies and provide copy to paper to all Kaufman ISD campuses as necessary.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Preparing files for print production; checking fonts, link and colors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with administration and teachers.
• Work as a leader and member of a team through cooperation and collaboration.
• Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, learners, and community.
• Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Equipment Used: Copier, personal computer, and other equipment.

Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; moderate standing, stooping, bending, and repetitive hand motions.
