Material Handler- 3rd shift

Job Summary Material Handler – Lamination Grade 19 (3rd Shift) at ABB’s NEMA Motors Division. This onsite role reports to the Manufacturing Manager – NEMA (Patrick Sexton for 3rd shift). The position involves handling coils and materials on the production line, operating equipment such as pull chains, pneumatic shears, pallet trucks, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards. Hourly pay range is $21.89–$27.92 with shift premium. Responsibilities Load coils onto dereelers, ensuring correct size C hook and centering the hoist over the coil. Use safety chain when loading coils. Remove and cut the first wrap off the coils and reposition the magnet. Ensure coils are loaded on both sides of the dereeler at each press by shift end. Palletize material off conveyors and operate electric pallet truck to move completed pallets or boxes of lamination to the staging area. Operate hoist to hang coils and move heavy (≥50 lbs.) material. Operate pneumatic shears, pneumatic stapler, and hydraulic lift tables as needed. Assemble boxes to keep production running and ensure adequate supply for the next shift. Ensure all lines are cleared at shift end. Operate Pick and Place machines when required. Perform daily cleanup at shift end. Essential Functions / Qualifications Understand and follow all ABB safety policies and hazard communication, wearing required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, cut‑resistant gloves, safety sleeves). Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; frequently use hands, turn, push, bend, reach, and pull. Walk or stand for long periods and keep up with the production pace. Use hand and power tools and equipment (electric chain hoists, pneumatic shears, stapler, hydraulic lift tables, pallet jacks, controls) to complete tasks. Read, write, use a calculator; comprehend work orders, blueprints, and inventory tags. Maintain regular attendance and stay for the full shift; work overtime and weekend hours as needed.
