Manager, Accounting - Corporate Accounting and Reporting

Salaries are determined by role scope, complexity, location, candidate skills, education, training, credentials, and overall market conditions. Eligible for performance‑based cash incentive awards. Responsibilities Compile, review, and analyze complex financial data for variance analysis, reporting, and accuracy. Develop and validate financial analyses for key performance metrics (production, profitability, expense management, staffing). Prepare and create components of overall business and financial plan, budget, and forecasts. Conduct reviews for accuracy and completeness; approve internal management‑based financial reporting, both routine and ad‑hoc. Conduct external reviews for financial statements (GAAP, SEC, STAT). Perform and review financial controls under Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements. Prepare and review complex documentation to support internal and external audits. Maintain compliance with financial external regulatory requirements and internal accounting policies. Participate in projects involving complex analysis and implementation of non‑complex regulatory changes (reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions). Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to collaborators. Assist in Essbase system updates and maintenance, including preparation of complex analysis and reports. Perform other duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate – Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field. Three years of finance, accounting, financial planning, or related experience. CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education preferred. Experience with accounting theory and practice within the insurance and financial services industry. Excellent communication skills and ability to consult on projects and present information effectively. Strong data analysis skills; ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners. Ability to influence stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strategic thinking and sound judgment to resolve issues as they arise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with financial reporting software (TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.) is a plus. Basic knowledge of accounting and financial concepts applied to financial systems and processes.
