PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) in Eugene, OR - Skilled Nursing - with same-day pay

Join a skilled nursing team in Eugene, OR as a Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN). This opportunity is ideal for a dependable clinician who is comfortable providing resident-centered care, supporting daily nursing operations, and working closely with the care team.

Position Summary:

In this role, your nursing and leadership skills will ensure that quality nursing care is provided to the residents, and you will direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants. Duties include meeting with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan the shifts' services, programs, and activities.

Job Responsibilities / Essential Tasks:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
• Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts' services, programs, and activities.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
• Transcribe physician orders into the resident's electronic medical record.
• Implement the resident care plan upon completion of the admission assessment.
• Chart all reports of accidents/incidents and complete all required assessments. Submit to the Director of Nursing or designee as required.
• Ensure accurate documentation in all areas of the resident's electronic medical record.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
• Notify the resident's physician and emergency contact when there is a change in the resident's condition.
• Ensure that personnel providing direct care to residents are providing such care in accordance with the resident's care plan and wishes.
• Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing services personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report problem areas to the Nurse Supervisor.
• Ensure that department personnel, residents, and visitors follow the department's established policies and procedures at all times.
• Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions, including expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
• Ensure that your assigned work areas, including nurse stations, medicine preparation rooms, unit resident care rooms, and treatment areas, are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific Requirements:

• Strong computer skills are needed for use of our electronic charting and medical records system.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be willing to accept new methods and principles and be able to incorporate them into existing nursing procedures.
• Must use safe work practices by following policies and procedures.
• Must maintain a neat appearance and wear the required Marquis uniform for your department.
• Must have patience, tact, and a positive attitude, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Accepts reassignments of duties and/or caseload as needed to provide the necessary care for all residents.

Experience and Education:

• At least 6 months of working experience as a nurse is preferred.
• Must have an RN, LPN, or LVN degree from an accredited college or university.
