Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the NICU will provide care to newborns requiring specialized attention in a Level 2 unit. The RN will work in a 6-bed unit, attending deliveries and providing postnatal care to babies, some of which may include hypoglycemia, mild respiratory distress, pre-term care, and more. Nurses may also be required to care for stable post-partum mothers and their babies when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to newborns in the NICU
• Attend C-sections and vaginal deliveries, with a focus on neonatal care
• Monitor and manage common neonatal conditions like hypoglycemia, respiratory distress, and more
• Work collaboratively with the medical team to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Flexible scheduling to meet unit needs, with potential floating to St Anthony North

Requirements:

• Must have 2 years of NICU experience
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Flexibility in scheduling with weekend and holiday rotations
• Ability to provide care for both newborns and post-partum mothers upon training
• Experience with EPIC charting system
