Hiring: General Accounting Professionals – CPA Required
Spectrum Careers is working with a client in Washington DC looking for a CPA to strengthen their accounting team. If you enjoy running a clean close and keeping the books audit-ready, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Own day-to-day general ledger activity, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Lead or support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules under GAAP
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Support external audits and tax preparation with organized, well-documented workpapers
- Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes
What you bring
- Active CPA license (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- [3–7]+ years of general accounting experience, in public accounting, industry, or both
- Strong understanding of GAAP, the general ledger, and the full close cycle
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
- Experience with an ERP system such as [NetSuite, Deltek Costpoint, Sage Intacct, Dynamics]
Nice to have
- Government contracting or project-based accounting experience
- Public accounting audit background
- Experience mentoring or supervising staff
