Football Performance Dietitian

The University of Houston Performance Nutrition Department is seeking to hire a Football Performance Dietitian. The position will be expected to start as soon as possible, preferably prior to September 2026. Job Description The Football Performance Dietitian is responsible for: Programming as well as providing nutrition support for the University of Houston football program Providing education and resources to University of Houston football student athletes, including team educations Individual athlete counseling. Coordinating and developing nutrition education initiatives and materials using a variety of platforms. Conducting and assessing body composition analysis with DEXA and InBody technologies. Managing team pre-,mid-, and post-game fueling while home and away. Ability to manage purchasing and inventory for fueling station. Work with on campus catering to provide team meals and snacks. Understanding of NCAA, Big 12, and State of Texas rules and regulations. Understanding of medical nutrition therapy, and ability to provide interventions appropriate to student athletes. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Performance Nutrition. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field Master’s Degree Registered Dietitian credentialed, applicable for licensure in Texas. Member of ASPDA. 1-2 years of experience in full-time employment within sports nutrition. Ability to work a non-standard work week which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. In-season and post-season travel required. Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent time and priority management skills Ability to work independently and also as an integral part of the sports nutrition and interdisciplinary teams.
