Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using standardized assessments and observational evaluations.
  • Create customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions centered on aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members, to ensure a unified approach to patient care.
  • Provide essential education for patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of clinical consultations.
  • Support occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions in speech therapy, ensuring a seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Maintain diligent and timely documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and peer collaboration to remain on the cutting edge of the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a similarly recognized qualification from a university accredited by the appropriate governing bodies.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly sought after.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of your start date.
Skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with evidence-based treatment methods for a diverse population, coupled with a sound understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders, both developmental and acquired.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Adept at adjusting therapy practices to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to problem-solve creatively in clinical situations.
  • Comfortable engaging with electronic medical records and maintaining documentation integrity.
