Join our team and help us lay the foundation for progress and innovation.A Day in Life of a Project Manager / Senior Roadway Engineer at HansonHere’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:A leading role on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) or Municipal/Local Government contracts and projectsPerform and review complex engineering calculationsPrepare and oversee engineering design/analysis and plans/construction contract documents, as well as author technical documents such as engineering reports, specifications, and special provisionsCollaborate with senior technical staffProvide direction and mentoring to engineering support staffPrepare calculations, quantity takeoffs and opinions of probable costDevelop scope/fee documents required for technical tasksManaging project performance tasks (staffing, budget, schedule, and quality assurance)Conduct site investigations, including determining problems, identifying alternative solutions, and providing recommendationsDevelop and maintain client relationshipsAssist project/contract proposal pursuits and assist with presentations for project pursuitsOther duties as assignedWe utilize the latest Open Roads Designer (ORD) software and have a training program in place to assist users at all levels and an active software user group to tackle new challenges. What We’re Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Education/Experience: Senior Roadway Design experience.Experience with roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer (preferred).A strong desire to learn, grow, and excel as an engineer and a professional.Ability to mentor and guide entry-level technical staff.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to put in extra hours to meet project deadlines when necessary.Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.10+ years of professional experience focused on roadway design.Florida P.E.Skills:Able to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholdersAble to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases and be able to effectively work with and manage project staffAble to comfortably speak publicly and interact positively with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractorsAble to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skillsWorking at Hanson:Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other officesMust be willing to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignmentsMust be willing and able to work overtime to meet project demands and deadlinesSalary range: $140,000 - $185,000BenefitsOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsWant to know more?
