Job Description
The Quality Assurance Technician provides hands-on guidance and leadership to production personnel on food safety measures and best practices. This role ensures that all customer concerns and complaints related to product quality are handled with professionalism, care, and a strong focus on resolution. The technician uses established tools, resources, and procedures to monitor and verify that food specifications, regulatory requirements, and production standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities
This role operates in a food manufacturing facility that includes cold storage areas, so the technician works regularly in a cold environment. The position is available on second shift, with a typical start time around 2:30-3:00 p.m., and on third shift, with a typical start time around 10:30-11:00 p.m. The work environment is production-focused and fast-paced, requiring consistent adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety standards. Appropriate attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety, hygiene, and comfort in cold storage and production areas.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Job Description

The technician uses established tools, resources, and procedures to monitor and verify that food specifications, regulatory requirements, and production standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear guidance and leadership to production staff on food safety measures, quality standards, and best practices.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to food safety programs, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Apply quality assurance and quality control tools to verify that products meet established specifications and customer expectations.
- Support and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the facility to maintain a safe and compliant production environment.
- Review, complete, and maintain accurate food safety and quality documentation, including records, logs, and reports.
- Investigate customer concerns and complaints related to product quality and food safety, and ensure they are handled with professionalism and care.
- Collaborate with production personnel to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of quality or food safety problems.
- Assist in routine inspections, audits, and checks of production lines, equipment, and storage areas to verify compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding quality issues, process deviations, and recommended improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in food safety and quality by providing feedback, observations, and suggestions based on daily operations.
- At least 1 year of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application in a production setting.
- Experience in food manufacturing quality assurance or quality control (QA/QC) processes.
- Familiarity with food safety and quality programs, including FSQA practices.
- Ability to complete and maintain accurate food safety and quality documentation.
- Comfort working in a cold storage environment for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify deviations from quality and food safety standards.
- Professional communication skills for handling customer concerns and collaborating with production personnel.
- Experience with FDA-related food safety and quality requirements.
- Background in QA, QC, or FSQA within a food manufacturing or cold storage facility.
- Ability to use quality assurance tools and resources to evaluate and improve production processes.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, records, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
