Dietary Manager

Your Role as the Dietary ManagerAmericare Senior Living is seeking an experienced and dedicated Dietary Manager to lead foodservice operations within our skilled nursing community. In this role, you'll ensure regulatory compliance, high-quality meal service, and a safe, sanitary kitchen environment while delivering nutritious, resident-centered dining experiences.SummaryThe Dietary Manager oversees all aspects of dietary services, including staff leadership, menu execution, budgeting, inventory, and compliance with state, federal, and company standards. This role works closely with interdisciplinary teams and Registered Dietitians to support resident health, satisfaction, and quality of life.This role may also be known as:Dietary Manager, Food Service Director, Nutrition Services Manager, Food Service Manager, or Dining Services Manager.What You'll DoSupervise dietary staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluationsEnsure compliance with state and federal dietary regulations, company policies, and ASI standardsPlan and oversee meal preparation based on dietitian-approved menusMaintain departmental budgets, manage inventory, and order food and suppliesCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered careUphold sanitation, infection control, and food safety standardsParticipate in resident care planning and coordinate with Registered DietitiansCommunicate professionally with inspectors, surveyors, and regulatory agenciesSupport continuous improvement in dining services and resident satisfactionWhat You BringQualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in dietary management, meal planning, and foodservice operationsDietary managerial experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferredServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulationsStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsPhysical DemandsStand, sit, walk, and change positions frequentlyLift or carry up to 25 lbs.; push and pull up to 50 lbs.Reach, balance, kneel, stoop, and bend as neededSafety RequirementsFollow all safety policies, including use of carts for moving itemsWear skid-resistant, supportive footwear to prevent slips and fallsUse protective hand equipment when handling knives, sharp objects, and hot surfacesReport work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentationParticipate in company drug testing proceduresWork EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional kitchen and foodservice environment, utilizing stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, coolers, and other equipment.
