Central Intake Specialist - Night Shift

Job Details Position: Intake/Admissions Work Shift: Monday thru Friday from 7:00 pm - 3:00 am Job Type: Full Time Coverage: Two Behavioral Health Locations, Osage Beach and Maryland Heights. Work Location: Center for Behavioral Health Maryland Heights; 11100 Ayrshire Dr. Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Assists in presenting information to provider for admission decisions. Reviews and enters medications for admitted patients. Initiates admission process, including skin assessment and nursing assessment. May take admission orders from provider. Keeps families and referral sources informed of decision making. Recommends other resources when indicated. Accompanies patient to unit and introduces them to staff. Provides thorough handoff to receiving nurse. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory agencies, insurance companies, state/federal requirements, and ensures host facility standards are maintained. Completes required monthly reports and communicates effectively with management. Operates ethically in dealings with referral sources, patients, families, and external agencies. Provides input into system for monitoring and improving inquiry calls. Identifies, reports, or corrects variables affecting quality of services provided to patients, families, and referring agencies. Participates in hospital quality improvement process and utilization review as required. Qualifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred. Utilization Review and insurance authorization experience preferred. Preferably one year of experience in a similar position or in clinical work with primary population served by the program.
