Job Description
Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) - Night Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position. The work schedule includes three 12-hour night shifts from 19:15 to 06:45, with a requirement for weekend coverage every third weekend.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care within a busy outpatient surgery department and occasionally in the emergency department. Primary patient populations include individuals with COPD and pneumonia, and special procedures may be performed on-site in a 2-3 bed ICU.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy interventions to patients as needed.
• Utilize specialized equipment, including Puritan Bennett 840 and Nihon Kohden NKV-330 ventilators.
• Provide care for patients with respiratory distress syndromes, pneumonia, and other related conditions.
• Conduct arterial blood gas draws and manage ventilator settings.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teamwork to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy preferred, first-timers accepted.
• Must possess current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• WV state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) required.
