Pediatric DentistThis job exists to: Provide high quality dental care that is culturally appropriate and prevention focused. Serves as a leader on the dental team contributing to the smooth, efficient, operation of the team, the Site and the Organization.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Providing care in the following disciplines of pediatric dental practice: diagnosis, preventative dentistry, operative dentistry, sedation, periodontics, pulpal therapy, oral surgery and orthodontics.Expanding and maintaining rapport with the dental community in the service area.Communicating with health & human services agencies, local governments, and community organizations as needed.Acquiring and maintaining hospital privileges at the local hospital, if applicable.Engaging actively with dental provider team in determining clinical guidelines for dental program and complying with established Clinica Standards of Care.Supporting and teaching team members at the site. Teaching students enrolled in a relevant health-profession training program.Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of pediatric dental practice, including accepted and evidence-based behavior management, and risk-based care practices.Ensuring optimal access to care through clinical productivity and a willingness to consider and address patient barriers to care.Engaging effectively with team members outside of dental and supporting overall integration of Clinica systems.Providing Human Resources staff the needed documentation, paperwork, and signatures to complete credentialing and privileging.Being respectful and responsive to staff and patients.Handling ongoing daily clinical work in a timely and thorough manner.Exhibiting positive leadership skills, actively striving to improve the patient and staff experience of Clinica, as well as strong communication skills.Collaborating well with teammates, both on a clinical level and on a managerial and administrative level.Effectively using the electronic dental and health records, registries and templates.Site with Opening: Clinica Family Health and Wellness Pecos Clinic, COHiring Organization: Clinica Family Health and WellnessPractice Highlights: For more than 40 years, Clinica Family Health has existed to provide health care to the low-income and struggling members of our community. Completion of an approved pediatric dental residency. Possession of a current license to practice dentistry in the State of Colorado. Possession of current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Board certified in Pediatric Dentistry (preferred). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to diagnose and treat dental and oral disease. Working knowledge of the principles, standard practices methods, and techniques of dentistry. Knowledge of preventative dentistry, risk-based care, and educational/communication methodologies utilized in prevention. Skill in oral operative techniques and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff. Understanding and application of practices and principles of quality improvement (QI) preferred. Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority community a must.
