Role Description The Environmental Health Safety Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Albuquerque, NM. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental health and safety (EHS) programs that support a safe clinical, academic, and administrative environment. Day-to-day duties include conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and managing incident reporting and follow-up. The specialist will deliver safety training and educational programs to faculty, staff, and students, including topics such as workplace safety, hazard communication, and emergency response. The role also involves collaborating with leadership to update policies, maintain safety documentation, and promote a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and safety. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Health & Safety and Workplace Safety, with the ability to design and maintain effective safety programs. Experience in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including regulatory compliance and risk assessment. Ability to develop and deliver Safety Training tailored to clinical, laboratory, and office environments. Strong knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and best practices in healthcare and educational settings. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders. Experience in environmental health, industrial hygiene, or related fields; prior work in academic, healthcare, or dental settings is an advantage. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Public Health, or a related discipline; relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHES) are preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
