Help shape student communication skills on a flexible contract assignment running through 6/25/26. Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered, with a focus on supporting direct and consultative speech-language services for school-aged children and preschoolers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • SLP-CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required
  • NYS Speech-Language Pathology license; TSSLD certification (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities) if applicable
  • Experience providing direct therapy, assessment, and consultation in school settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of IDEA and NYS Education Law regarding special education
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation abilities

Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate students for speech, language, fluency, voice, articulation, and related needs using both formal and informal assessments
  • Collect and interpret assessment data, observe students, and compile comprehensive case histories
  • Participate as a member of Committee on Special Education (CSE) or Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), contributing to eligibility determinations and IEP/Individualized Plans
  • Develop, review, and revise IEPs; set goals and determine service delivery models
  • Deliver direct therapy (individual and small group) in both push-in and pull-out formats, adapting interventions as needed including support for AAC
  • Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, families, and other related service providers; provide support implementing classroom communication strategies
  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant documentation, including evaluation and progress reports in line with federal and NYS requirements
  • Stay current with best practices, participate in ongoing professional development as required by NYS law and credentialing boards
