We are committed to contributing positively to the communities where we live, work and play.Job DescriptionPay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hourWork Schedule: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm - Monday - FridayMueller is now part of the Cornerstone Building Brands family, strengthening our commitment to serving our communities where we live, work, and play with quality and innovative metal building solutions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position supports the business by providing great individual service to the structural welding department, helping to build frames for our customer's buildings.Joins, Fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniquesInterprets Blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding processReceives job duties from the production lead/supervisorFollow work procedures and tool and material requirementsSelect and set up welding equipmentClean and prepare surfaces to be weldedFabricate metal building and metal roofing componentsUse a rod or wire and heat to join metalsUse a plasma torch, grinding wheel, band saw or other instrument for cutting metalEnsure welds meet standards and specificationsOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretionOther jobs/duties as directedQualificationsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree2 years' experience in welding/fabricatingWelding certification is preferred but not requiredAbility to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerableAttention and care are required to prevent injury to self or others when performing workAbility to stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of timeAgreement to wear protective equipment for exposure to glare, burn, and shrapnelAbility to perform in adverse working environments regarding temperature, hot/cold.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waistAdditional InformationSite Address: 6914 Hwy 2, Oak Grove, LA 71263This is a position with the potential overtime.
