Through supervised family time, safe exchanges, and evidence-based parenting education, the department offers both in-person and virtual services designed to prioritize safety, emotional health, and positive parent-child connections. Guided by the belief that every family has strengths and every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment, the department works to prevent family violence and support families through education, supervision, and community collaboration. Visitation and Exchange SpecialistJOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Visitation and Exchange Specialist supports the safety and well-being of children and families by providing compassionate, trauma-informed supervised visitation and safe exchange services. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSBachelor 's degree; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Parenting Education and Support EducatorJOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Parenting Education and Support (PES) Educator provides direct, strengths-based parenting education to families, delivering evidence-based curriculum in a supportive and community-centered learning environment. This role supports parents in building skills that promote safe, healthy, and nurturing relationships with their children while ensuring services align with the agency's mission, quality standards, and community needs. The PES Educator collaborates with community partners, maintains accurate program documentation, and contributes to prevention efforts by empowering families through education, connection, and support. REQUIRED COMPETENCIESOccupational CompetenciesMeet standards of practice: Familiarity with or the ability to learn social work practice, human development, family systems, including appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory rules.File management: Experience with keeping organized, complete, and accurate files, including regular auditing to ensure compliance.Deliver services within diverse cultural communities: Skills and sensitivity in working with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds with a variety of challenges.Adapt teaching to student's capabilities: Familiarity with identifying the learning struggles and successes of Select teaching and learning strategies that support students' individual learning needs and goals.Observe confidentiality: Knowledge to observe rules establishing the nondisclosure of information except to another authorized person.Foundational CompetenciesActive Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting.Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.Writing: Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people.Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. EXAMPLE ACTIVITIESProvides direct teaching services following all PES approved curriculum.Stays abreast of evolving practices and community needs in parent education and family services and general outreach related to prevention services.Ensures that program services are provided in accordance with quality assurance standards of the agency, county(s), state, accrediting organizations, and HIPAA.Develops and maintains strong relationships with community partners, referring agencies, funding organizations, local school district personnel and external constituency or consultants.
