DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWThe Family Support and Education Program provides safe, child-centered services that support healthy family relationships and child well-being. Through supervised family time, safe exchanges, and evidence-based parenting education, the department offers both in-person and virtual services designed to prioritize safety, emotional health, and positive parent-child connections. Guided by the belief that every family has strengths and every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment, the department works to prevent family violence and support families through education, supervision, and community collaboration. Visitation and Exchange SpecialistJOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Visitation and Exchange Specialist supports the safety and well-being of children and families by providing compassionate, trauma-informed supervised visitation and safe exchange services. This position ensures services are delivered professionally, maintains accurate and confidential records, fosters positive relationships with families and community partners, collects program data, and upholds agency policies, court requirements, and mandated reporting responsibilities while contributing to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. REQUIRED COMPETENCIESOccupational CompetenciesMeet standards of practice: Familiarity with or the ability to learn social work practice, human development, child welfare system and family systems, including appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory rules.Apply crisis intervention: Experience with crisis management, problem solving, and mediation best practices.Legal requirements: Familiarity with the legal system as it applies to child welfare.Deliver services within diverse cultural communities: Skills and sensitivity in working with youth and families from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds with a variety of challenges.Communicate professionally with colleagues in other fields: Ability to communicate professionally and cooperate with members of the other professions involved with the youth.Apply person-centered care: Skilled in the treatment of individuals as partners in planning, developing and assessing care, to make sure it is appropriate for their Put them and their caregivers at the heart of all decisions.Build helping relationships: Experience with developing a collaborative helping relationship, addressing any ruptures or strains in the relationship, fostering bonding and gaining trust and cooperation through empathic listening, caring, warmth and authenticity.Foundational CompetenciesActive Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people.Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.EXAMPLE ACTIVITIESImplement direct visitation and exchange services according to the specifics provided in referral documentation.Maintain client records and files to comply with HIPAA and agency regulations.Ensure that program services are provided in accordance with quality assurance standards applicable for the program.May assist with scheduling and implementation of an ongoing schedule of Visitation and Exchange program services.Establish and maintain regular and ongoing communication and effective working relationships with other local professionals as they pertain to the programs' delivery of services.Report any suspected cases of child abuse to the appropriate agencies as required as a mandated reporter.Participate in staff meetings and other training as required by the agency and the program.Accept payment from clients.Perform other duties as required. TRANSPORTATIONMust maintain a valid driver's license and carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSBachelor 's degree; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Parenting Education and Support EducatorJOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Parenting Education and Support (PES) Educator provides direct, strengths-based parenting education to families, delivering evidence-based curriculum in a supportive and community-centered learning environment. This role supports parents in building skills that promote safe, healthy, and nurturing relationships with their children while ensuring services align with the agency's mission, quality standards, and community needs. The PES Educator collaborates with community partners, maintains accurate program documentation, and contributes to prevention efforts by empowering families through education, connection, and support. EXAMPLE ACTIVITIESProvides direct teaching services following all PES approved curriculum.Stays abreast of evolving practices and community needs in parent education and family services and general outreach related to prevention services.Ensures that program services are provided in accordance with quality assurance standards of the agency, county(s), state, accrediting organizations, and HIPAA.Develops and maintains strong relationships with community partners, referring agencies, funding organizations, local school district personnel and external constituency or consultants. Attends community or agency meetings and participates in other community outreach functions.Collects client demographic information, program service statistics and case records for reporting purposes.Performs other duties as assigned.
