Associate Quality Engineer

Abbott seeks an Associate Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations for cardiac rhythm management devices in Puerto Rico. The role involves overseeing line quality, safety, and yield while leading root cause analysis, managing process changes, and executing continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned manufacturing line output, safety, yield, and quality metrics
• Identify product defects and determine operational or process actions to reduce them
• Lead root cause analysis using DMAIC methodology and support major CAPA investigations
• Execute line change management for materials, equipment, and process modifications
• Develop and execute simple continuous improvement projects and line support studies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• Knowledge of applicable US and non-US regulations for medical device manufacturing
• Proficiency in manufacturing and process engineering principles and applications
• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish, written and verbal
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels and functions
• Basic statistics knowledge (preferred)

Compensation: $45,000–$89,800 base
