Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. This role involves working in a fast-paced medical Emergency Department, providing high-quality care to patients in critical situations.

Shift Details:

• Shift Type: Nights/Mids rotation - 1900-0700/1100-2300
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Unit Information:

The Emergency Department includes an 11-bed medical ED with a separate Crisis Prevention and Evaluation Program (CPEP) unit. The CPEP is equipped with two distinct spaces: an evaluation area accommodating up to six patients and an Extended Observation space for two patients. Each area is staffed by nurses, Patient Care Technicians (PCT), and Behavioral Health teams when patients are present. Staff members may work either six-hour or twelve-hour blocks, depending on the shift.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

• Manage patient triage and ensure medical clearance before transitioning to the CPEP space.
• Conduct necessary procedures including labs and EKGs while patients are in the CPEP area.
• Collaborate with security personnel to ensure a safe environment within the ED.

Qualifications:

• Active New York State Nursing License is required.
• Minimum of one year of ER nursing experience.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
• Previous experience with EPIC charting is essential.
• Must be available for weekend shifts and consistent rotation between day and night shifts.
