People Advisory Services (PAS) builds and improves organizational and individual performance, delivering a highly complex and challenging mission, especially in an ever changing working environment. Our PAS Mobility practice provides services to manage the cost and risks involved in HR plans, programs and systems related to a global workforce. We advise the part of business strategy related to people. As a Tax Senior Manager, you'll be providing strategic tax planning recommendations to clients. You'll have the opportunity to work with global clients to address their most complex people challenges, and ultimately improve and drive sustainable business results.

Your key responsibilities

With the Mobility Tax team, you'll join a talented group of professionals that provide individual tax planning, compliance services and advice on tax implications related to the mobility of employees as well as corporate and employment tax planning. Our key capabilities include: Mobility Tax Compliance, Income Tax Advisory & calculations, Cross-Border Share based incentive schemes & expatriate compensation and Global and Local Employment Tax Compliance & Advisory.

You will be engaged in complex compliance and advisory work; working with colleagues all over the globe, completing tax returns, reviewing/signing off, writing correspondence, providing authoritative advice/guidance, and review tax cost estimates. Directly engaging our clients is vital, be ready to question and negotiate to provide results.

Skills and attributes for success

• Successful delivery of Mobility (Expatriate) Tax projects: technical excellence and practical/business driven approach to solving complex client challenges
• Provide quality US tax returns and overseas tax filings; preparing/reviewing calculations (international tax cost projections, equalization and hypothetical tax)
• Generate revenue through identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting relationships with clients; identify potential risks and opportunities to improve processes and acquire new business; contribute to business development and client pursuit activities
• Lead workstreams from planning to implementation – managing resources and budgets effectively
• Develop understanding of expatriate tax issues, trends and tools, and maintaining your reputation as an authoritative professional
• Managing, coaching, and developing junior resources and peers, focusing on their technical and client service skills to develop their career

To qualify for the role you must have

• A bachelor's degree in related field; MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred
• 8+ years' relevant experience in expatriate tax: Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or in-house role with exposure to large-scale projects
• Mandarin language skills highly desired
• Approved technical certification; US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership
• An understanding of automated tax-processing systems, as well as tax laws
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to confidently influence colleagues and clients
• Analytical approach to tax; ability to convert complex data into meaningful strategic insights
• Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
• Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
• • New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $153,700 to $319,100
  • Bay Area California offices – $160,100 to $332,400
  • All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $128,100 to $292,500
• Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
• Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
