Quitman County Elementary School is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and dependable Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in both general education and special education settings. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), assist with classroom instruction, behavior support, and help students with daily living and social skills.Primary Responsibilities:· Support students individually or in small groups under the direction of certified staff.· Assist with implementation of instructional and behavioral strategies.· Monitor and record student progress.· Support students with mobility, communication, and/or daily living needs.· Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and during transitions.· Maintain confidentiality and follow all FERPA and IDEA regulations.· Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff.· Assist as a bus monitor for students on daily bus routes.Minimum Qualifications:· High school diploma or GED required.· Must meet paraprofessional requirements under federal and state guidelines (e.g., 60 semester hours of college credit, an associate's degree, or passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment or equivalent).· Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred.· Ability to work patiently, professionally, and effectively with students, families, and staff.· Ability to assist students with physical needs.If you are passionate about special education and ready to make a positive impact in the lives of students, we encourage you to apply.Join us in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can succeed and thrive.
