Position Overview:

Starian Fabrication is seeking an experienced Stone / Countertop Templator & Project Manager to join our growing operation.

This person will serve as the primary field templator for our projects and will play a critical role in bridging the gap between the field, office, and fabrication shop.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience templating stone, quartz, granite, or similar countertop projects and understands how to accurately capture and communicate all of the information necessary for successful fabrication and installation.

As the role develops, this position will grow into broader project management responsibilities , helping coordinate projects from field measurement through fabrication and installation.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate field templating and measurements for countertop projects.
• Serve as the primary templator for residential and commercial projects.
• Review jobsite conditions and identify potential fabrication or installation issues before production.
• Clearly document and communicate templates, dimensions, seam locations, overhangs, edge details, sink/cooktop cutouts, backsplash requirements, field conditions, and other job-specific information.
• Communicate template and job information effectively to the fabrication shop and CNC team.
• Coordinate directly with contractors, builders, designers, homeowners, and other project stakeholders while onsite.
• Review drawings, plans, specifications, and field conditions prior to fabrication.
• Work with the office and fabrication teams to ensure projects are complete and ready for production.
• Help coordinate project schedules, fabrication requirements, and installation dates.
• Track outstanding job information and proactively resolve questions before they become production or installation problems.
• Assist with CAD drawings and digital template processing where applicable.
• Perform final job reviews to ensure fabrication information is complete and accurate.
• Gradually assume additional project management responsibilities as familiarity with Starian's operation grows.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of countertop templating experience required.
• Experience with stone, marble, granite, quartz, solid surface, or countertop fabrication strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of countertop fabrication and installation requirements.
• Ability to accurately measure and document complex field conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both customers and fabrication personnel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple active projects simultaneously.
• Ability to identify problems in the field and develop practical solutions before fabrication begins.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout Connecticut, New York, and surrounding areas.

Preferred Experience

• CAD experience.
• Digital countertop templating experience.
• Project management experience.
• Experience reading architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating directly with general contractors, millwork companies, designers, and construction professionals.
• Understanding of CNC-based countertop fabrication.
