What You'll Lead:Facility Operations & ComplianceOversee the day-to-day operations of the facility while ensuring compliance with Massachusetts and federal requirementsServe as the facility's designated Compliance Officer and ensure an effective, active compliance programMaintain readiness for regulatory surveys, inspections, audits, and accreditation requirementsLead corrective action and follow-up when compliance or operational concerns are identifiedEnsure infection control, safety, emergency preparedness, fire prevention, and disaster response programs remain current and effectiveMaintain and guide implementation of facility policies and proceduresMonitor incident reports, complaints, and quality concerns and ensure appropriate investigation and follow-upSupport a culture of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvementResident Care & QualityEnsure residents receive high-quality care and services that promote dignity, independence, safety, and quality of lifeFoster strong interdisciplinary collaboration across nursing, rehabilitation, social services, dietary, activities, medical, and support teamsEnsure care planning, resident assessments, treatment, and documentation meet applicable standardsAddress resident, family, and responsible-party concerns promptly, respectfully, and effectivelyPromote resident rights, privacy, confidentiality, and freedom from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and discriminationMaintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and employeesMaintain visibility throughout the facility and develop meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staffLeadership & CultureLead, mentor, and hold accountable department heads and administrative leadersEstablish clear operational, financial, quality, and programmatic goals for the facilityConduct regular leadership meetings to ensure communication, accountability, and operational alignmentRecruit, develop, and retain qualified employees who support the facility's mission and standardsSet the standard for integrity, professionalism, service excellence, and ethical conductEncourage employee engagement, recognition, professional development, and continuous improvementEnsure required orientation, annual training, resident rights, safety, infection control, abuse prevention, and compliance education are completedFoster a culture where employees are encouraged to identify quality concerns and participate in meaningful solutionsStaffing, HR & Payroll OversightOversee staffing levels and ensure the facility has qualified personnel necessary to provide safe, effective resident careProvide leadership in the hiring, development, performance management, and retention of department heads and supervisory personnelPartner with Human Resources regarding employee relations, grievances, performance concerns, Workers' Compensation, FMLA, leave administration, and other personnel mattersMaintain oversight of payroll accuracy, timekeeping, PTO, benefits inquiries, and related administrative processesReview and approve payroll documentation and ensure timely submission of required informationSupport ongoing employee education, training, and professional developmentPromote a respectful, accountable, and collaborative workplace cultureFinancial & Census AccountabilityParticipate in the development and management of the annual facility operating budgetMonitor monthly financial performance and take action to address variances and control operating expensesMaintain strong facility census and support appropriate admissions and occupancy strategiesPartner with admissions, sales, and marketing teams to support census growth and community awarenessMonitor reimbursement-related processes and ensure required documentation is accurate and timelyOversee purchasing, requisitions, supplies, equipment, and contracted services necessary for facility operationsSupport capital planning and make recommendations regarding equipment, repairs, renovations, and facility improvementsMaintain appropriate oversight of resident funds and financial transactions conducted at the facilityCommunity Presence & ReputationServe as a primary representative of Mattapan Health & Rehabilitation Center to residents, families, referral partners, physicians, regulators, and the broader communityBuild and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, community organizations, and professional partnersSupport marketing and outreach strategies that strengthen census, referrals, and the facility's reputation
