Certified Nursing Asst/Central Supply Tech StoneBridge Maryland Heights - Part-time Summary A Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for supporting medical staff in administering care to residents with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. The position requires patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the elderly in a gentle and empathetic manner. Assists resident with or performs activities of daily living for resident in accordance with care plans and established policies and procedures. Assists resident with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. Coordinates dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including set-up and clean-up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake. Delivers nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provides assistance as necessary to ensure intake. Documents intake accordingly. Assists with weighing residents according to facility policy, and records weight in designated locations. Reports weight changes to nurse and supervisor. Assists with tracking the condition of the resident’s skin. Reports any presence of pressure areas, skin breakdown or skin tears to nurse and supervisor. Assists nursing staff in carrying out toileting program activities. Completes flow sheets daily to indicate that the specified task was done. Documents the progress of each resident as directed by supervisor. Keeps nurse and supervisor informed of factors that interfere with being able to perform the work as assigned (i.e., resident refusal, reassigned to nursing unit). Reports changes in a resident’s condition to the resident’s nurse and supervisor. Responsibilities and Duties Central Supply Inventory Management: Conduct regular weekly or monthly counts to maintain correct par levels (the minimum stock needed). Ordering and Receiving: Order medical and facility supplies, receive shipments, and inspect items for damage. Distribution: Deliver supplies to nursing stations and departments, keeping stock rooms clean and organized. Qualifications and Skills Certified Nursing Aide in good standing with the certification board or is a graduate of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state-approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment REQUIRED High School Graduate/GED preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification preferred. At least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care preferred. Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
