Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and strong cardiac monitoring skills.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Work settings include MS/Tele, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to MedSurg units required
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Ability to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols
• Ability to manage cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care/management experience
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Non-invasive airway management experience
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and IV therapy
• Must work at least one holiday from Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Requested time off must not exceed 7 days
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted
