GRANT SPECIALIST

The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance (LSWA) Grant Specialist is responsible for overseeing programmatic activities, budgets, and reporting for multiple federal, state, and private grants. The role collaborates with the LSWA Director and the Department of Finance to ensure projects remain on schedule, budgets are balanced and allocated correctly, and quarterly, annual, and final reports are prepared for funding agencies. The specialist also pursues new funding sources and drafts proposals to grant agencies. Responsibilities Collaborate with LSWA Director to identify metrics and collect data for reporting and assessment. Lead the writing and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports as required by funding agencies. Maintain project budgets. Support and collaborate with LSWA Director in identifying, writing, and submitting new grant proposals. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to the LSWA Director. information in a manner that gets others’ attention Qualifications Education and Experience Master’s Degree in a relevant field and (3) years of administrative, progressively responsible experience, of which at least one (1) year involved budgeting, expenditures, and/or procurement, preferably in a non‑profit organization or post‑secondary institution. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and four (4) years related progressively responsible experience, at least one (1) year involving budgeting, expenditures, and/or procurement, preferably in a non‑profit organization or post‑secondary institution. Attendance in Quarterly Finance meetings and monthly LSWA Staff meetings is required. Core Job Skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with clarity and efficiency. Language Skills High skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Mathematical Skills Intermediate skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Reasoning Ability Very high skills – Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Computer Skills Expert knowledge of major office computer and spreadsheet software (QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel). Other Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of the State of Maryland and federal regulations (OMB, 2CFR200, EDGAR).
