Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit. This position involves providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on critical and complex cases.

Shift and Schedule

Available Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Work a 36 or 48-hour schedule based on traveler preference
Block scheduling is available
Every other weekend is required

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
Manage ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to formulate and implement care plans.
Maintain a high standard of patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required. At least 1 year may be considered if from a high-acuity or busy ICU.
Ventilator management experience is mandatory.
First-time travelers with ICU experience are welcome to apply.
Active RN license in Alabama or a compact state is required at the time of submission.

Certifications

BLS certification is required.
ACLS certification is preferred.

Additional Information

Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.
Compliance documentation is due one week prior to the start date.
Orientation occurs every other Monday.
Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are required; medical or religious exemptions will be considered with appropriate documentation.
Scrub colors: navy tops and bottoms or navy bottoms with a white top.

Policies

Requests for time off should be between 3-5 days, with a maximum of 7 days per 13 weeks.
Local radius for travel positions is 75 miles; local candidates are not eligible.
Former permanent staff are not eligible to apply for 10 years.
