Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school students. This role spans the entire academic year, beginning September 1 and concluding at the end of the school year. The position is full-time and offers the chance to make a lasting impact across two high schools, working directly with adolescents who benefit from a resource-focused, individualized approach.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification
- Previous experience or strong interest in working in high school settings
- Ability to foster relationships and provide tailored support to teens
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability to manage responsibilities at two locations
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource teacher for high school students receiving special education services
- Split time between two high school campuses, offering support, guidance, and intervention according to individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to ensure student success
- Develop and implement strategies for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Manage documentation and IEP compliance aligned with school and district standards
- Track student progress, provide regular updates, and participate in team meetings
