Building Automation Technician

Role Description

• The Building Automation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
• This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning building automation and HVAC control systems, including field devices, controllers, and related equipment.
• Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and resolving system issues, performing routine inspections, and executing preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
• The technician will interpret wiring diagrams and control schematics, verify proper operation of automation sequences, and document all work completed.
• Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and clients is expected to ensure systems meet design specifications, safety standards, and client expectations.

• Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in building automation and HVAC control systems.
• Candidates should possess Automation and Robotics skills to work effectively with control systems, programmable controllers, and integrated building technologies.
• Candidates should possess practical Electricity knowledge to read wiring diagrams, work safely with electrical circuits, and support system installations.
• Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills to schedule, perform, and document routine service that minimizes downtime and extends equipment life.
• Relevant experience with building automation, HVAC controls, or industrial control systems is preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, use diagnostic tools, and maintain accurate service records.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work safely on-site, often in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical certification or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, or automation fields is a plus.
