Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoAssist maintenance personnel when requested/neededParticipate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety CultureEffectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needsEnsure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shiftPerform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed without the assistance of maintenance personnelResponsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and proceduresResponsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work areaTo give relief to any of the overhead crane operatorsTroubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with othersUnderstand start up, shutdown, and emergency proceduresOperate a forklift to move material and supplies as requiredCommunicate and coordinate with crew members to sustain a quality finished product that meets or exceeds customer expectations and is sustained within specificationsCorrect loading of finished product bundles onto a flatbed trailerExecute standard operating procedures when loading trucks and railcarsWhat You'll NeedAbility to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skillsAbility to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spacesBasic computer skillsDependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needsMust be able to learn quickly and multitaskMust be able to lift up to 50 lbsSome overtime will be requiredWork on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidaysForklift experience preferredHigh School Diploma or GED preferredWe are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
