Onsite Clinic Supporting TOHO Water Authority Employees

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Assistant to provide per diem coverage in an onsite employee health clinic serving TOHO Water Authority employees in Kissimmee, FL.

This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant looking for flexible work opportunities. Hours are scheduled to cover staff PTO and absences, so weekly hours are not guaranteed.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Clinic Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• 10-hour shifts as needed

Position Overview

This role combines both front-office and back-office responsibilities in a fast-paced clinic environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, administrative experience, and excellent customer service abilities.

Front Office Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients
• Verify eligibility, coverage, and benefits
• Complete required patient documentation
• Answer and triage incoming phone calls
• Route calls appropriately and take accurate messages
• Schedule patient appointments
• Verify membership and benefit coverage

Back Office Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs
• Administer immunizations and injections
• Perform point-of-care testing
• Draw blood and process lab specimens
• Conduct occupational health testing
• Support clinic providers with patient care activities
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and cross-training opportunities
• Assist with new procedures and support additional departments as needed

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of front and back office Medical Assistant experience in a provider office setting
Hands-on phlebotomy experience required
Strong computer skills
Excellent clinical, administrative, and customer service skills
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
Strong time management skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Flexible and adaptable in a busy clinic environment
