Senior Autonomy Project Team Lead

Position Overview Senior Autonomy Project Team Lead – L8 Validation Lead within Cat Technology, Autonomy – System Integration & Validation. Serve as validation leadership for next‑generation AI‑powered autonomous solutions for construction customers. Provide internal team leadership for a globally distributed integration & validation team and act as key point of contact with product development teams. Deliver new levels of development & validation efficiency, set strategy, lead team members and represent the Product Quality swim lane for associated NPI programs. Responsibilities Champion Product Quality for all Construction Autonomy NPI programs. Drive efficiency initiatives to reduce reliance on machines for development and validation in AI‑based product validation, virtual product development (VPD) and hardware‑in‑the-loop (HIL). Lead NPI Product Quality swim lane activities including validation planning and status reporting. Manage priorities for integration & validation team members – from setting major release strategy to day‑to‑day coordination in daily huddles. Lead coordination of defect / issue management. Lead a culture of continuous improvement through issue retrospectives. Qualifications Degree in an accredited Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science curriculum. Experience supporting projects in Heavy Equipment (Automotive, Manufacturing, Robotics, etc.). Prior validation or testing experience of engineering product development. Hands‑on testing experience with HIL equipment. Exposure to AI in engineering preferred (GenAI). Planning: tactical, strategic, effective planning techniques, multiyear validation initiatives, budget planning cycle knowledge. Effective communications: presenting concise status summaries to cross‑functional NPI teams and executive stakeholders. Cross‑team integration: leading regular team forums focused on project plan management, issue triage and management, technical evaluation of validation techniques. Project management: developing and managing project plans, challenging teams to pressure‑test schedule durations. Agile SDLC knowledge and expertise with complex software applications within system‑of‑systems level products. Location Mossville, IL or Irving, TX – full‑time on‑site office. Domestic relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship not available. Up to 20% travel. Compensation Pay range: $147,760.00 – $240,110.00.
