Assembles supplies for surgical procedures, maintains the sterile field, passes surgical instrumentation, and assists in room preparation.
Qualifications
Work Experience
- None
License/Registration/Certification
- Current certification as a Surgical Technician required or military documentation for surgical technology training
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
Education and Training
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist school/program OR surgical scrub tech training through military.
Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
- Possess effective oral communications skills.
- Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Surgical Technician.
- Ability to precept new staff and students in aseptic technique, instrumentation, and operative procedures.
