Step into a rewarding role dedicated to the well-being of young students in an elementary school setting. An exciting contract opportunity is available for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support children’s health and help foster a safe, healthy learning environment. The position is for one elementary school near West Warwick, RI, running from now through June 20th on a part-time basis (20 hours per week).

Your efforts will make a daily difference as you address both routine and urgent student needs, collaborate with faculty, and be a reliable point of care for students and families. Working in close partnership with the school staff, you’ll provide direct nursing care, manage care plans, attend to injuries and illnesses, and promote overall wellness in the school community.

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

• Active RN or LPN license (Rhode Island required)
• Previous pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, empathy, and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently in an educational environment
• Experience developing and managing care plans for children
• Comfort providing first aid and health assessments
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician’s orders
• Conduct health screenings and provide emergency first aid
• Maintain accurate health records for students
• Act as a health resource for students, parents, and staff
• Assist in implementing individualized care plans
• Promote a culture of health and wellness within the school
