Healthworks for Northern Virginia is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the medically underserved and uninsured populations of Northern Virginia. We provide quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care to all ages who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Work life balance - no weekends! Description of duties:

• Assists in both the planning and implementation of Healthworks for Northern Virginia's health care plan.
• Accepts clinical responsibilities/duties assigned or requested by the Chief Dental Officer.
• Adheres to quality assessment guideline, CLIA, OSHA or other regulations as federally mandated or as set forth by standards of practice of Healthworks for Northern Virginia.
• Assists in the responsibility of on call and hospital duty for the practice.
• Participates in hospital activities and professional program development.
• Recommends purchase of supplies and equipment (outside of the regular operating budget) to the Chief Dental Officer.
• Develops and observes policies procedures and protocols to achieve the Healthworks for Northern Virginia's goals and objectives.
• Recommends changes in staffing, services, facilities, scheduling or patient flow (i.e. practice management) to the Chief Dental Officer.
• Maintains organized, complete pediatric medical records with regard to content appropriateness and confidentiality. All patient notes and the record must be completed within 48 hours of the visit.
• Assists in the evaluation of dental record QA and outcomes measures.
• Maintains the office hours of the center and must abide by Healthworks for Northern Virginia's policy for vacation, personal days, annual leave, and continuing medical education for physicians.
• Participates in provider staff, clinical staff, and general staff, meetings.
• Shares in responsibility of teaching of Health Science students, residents, and other health professionals as the community health center becomes involved in the training of Health Science students.
• Maintains certifications which strengthen provider ability to provide quality care (i.e. ACLS, PALS, APLS, NRC, etc.)
• Represents Healthworks for Northern Virginia in the community through involvement in community activities, which support the mission and philosophy of Healthworks for Northern Virginia.
• Participates in marketing self and Healthworks for Northern Virginia to the community as a way of attracting new patients to the practice.

Position requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited dental school.
• Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
• Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required, hospital privileges preferred.
• FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance obtainable.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
• Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Virginia (commissioned NHSC/PHS officers are exempt).
• Current CPR (BLS) certifications, ACLS preferred.
• Current DEA registrations.
• Medicare and Medicaid and other health plan provider numbers.

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficient and thorough electronic medical records skills including the preparation of reports.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills; ability to prioritize and execute a variety of tasks simultaneously; self motivated; ability to maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, providers, staff and other customers/vendors.
• Ability to be flexible and highly reliable.
