Tasks may involve direct patient contact, including assisting in filling out forms, routine activities such as vital signs monitoring, venipuncture for diagnostic purposes, and collection of body fluid samples from patients. Non‑face‑to‑face clerical activities include updating patient demographic and outside treatment information, scheduling of diagnostic tests, and telephonic appointment reminder calls to patients. Key Responsibilities Take appropriate vital signs (Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Pulse Rate, and temperature) and document this information timely and appropriately. Relay to the supervising RN any findings of abnormal values. Perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples and collect urine for testing. Send out any blood samples drawn, or tissue samples taken to the appropriate referral laboratory. Assist in calling in prescriptions (new and/or refill) for patients per appropriate provider approval. Assist as instructed in notifying patients of any outside diagnostic test results and set up follow‑up appointments as directed. Qualifications Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years old. A minimum of a high school diploma/GED; an Associate Degree preferred. Medical Assistant Certification or completion of an approved MA training program accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. One (1) year of behavioral health work experience preferred. Valid AZ State driver’s license; vehicle with state minimum car insurance and ability to meet Copa driving guidelines. CPR certification required. Must complete training and demonstrate competence in Integrated Care skills. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications. Satisfactory work records as determined by People 1st. Successfully completes a pre‑employment drug screening. Complete all onboarding paperwork in a timely manner and be cleared to attend New Employee Orientation as scheduled. Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and other required background checks. Ability to meet Copa’s authorized driving requirements set forth by our insurance company, including AZ driver’s license upon hire, 39‑month MVR, proof of insurance and vehicle registration if applicable.
