Certified Medical Coding Specialist

To support a growing multi-specialty practice, the full-time remote Certified Medical Coding Specialist II will utilize coding software to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines. Key responsibilities Utilize encoder and grouper software to determine appropriate coding for various medical services Maintain knowledge of coding initiatives and apply relevant guidelines to select accurate codes and modifiers Ensure compliance with National Correct Coding Initiatives and Medicare guidelines during the coding process Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education, or an active coding certification 1 year of progressive coding experience in a healthcare setting Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification upon hire Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred Experience in multiple specialties or HCC Risk adjustment coding preferred
