Your role and responsibilities As an Associate Application Consultant, your mission will be to assist IBM clients in navigating complex business challenges, seizing market opportunities, and comprehending the cutting‑edge technologies that influence conventional business practices. Key responsibilities include: Adopting consulting skills and business acumen to integrate packaged technology effectively within client environments. Translating client business needs into actionable requirements and developing solutions that drive measurable business value. Preferred technical and professional experience A highly motivated individual with a proven track record of achievements. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines amid competing priorities. Preferred Majors: Computer Science, MIS/IT, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. Certifications: AWS Foundational (Cloud or AI Practitioner); ongoing Associate, Professional, or Specialty certifications are acceptable. Experience: Involvement in cloud‑native projects (academic, personal, or internship), familiarity with Agile methodologies, and basic programming skills (reading, debugging, and explaining code). Skills/Tech: Fundamental knowledge in programming (.NET/ASP.NET, C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript), basic SQL, networking fundamentals, Terraform/CloudFormation, and Linux basics. Awareness of Microservices architecture and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), along with a genuine interest in leveraging AI technology for business advancement through experiential learning. Ability to consider multiple solutions for complex problems. An operational and consulting mindset, with the capacity to translate technical work into business impact. Professional readiness and comfort in client‑facing roles. Technical comprehension of contemporary software development patterns and flexibility to engage in both front‑end and back‑end development. Experience with cloud and AI concepts, including Azure services, data platforms, security, and AI models through coursework, labs, internships, or personal projects, along with a willingness to continue learning. Experience using AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar for research, analysis, and productivity enhancement, while exercising critical thinking and validation.
