Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (Night Shift)

ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (Night Shift) in Rancho Mirage, California.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Night shift, working 3/12 hours, with 3-4 weekend shifts per month. May be required to float to Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care to adult patients with a variety of complex medical conditions. The unit specializes in cardiovascular and neurological care, ensuring the management of critically ill patients through appropriate nursing interventions and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' conditions continuously and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed, including managing cardiac drips.
• Perform advanced nursing procedures such as central line and arterial line placement, intubations, tracheostomies, and therapeutic hypothermia.
• Provide comprehensive care for patients with respiratory, cardiac, and neurovascular issues, including stroke management.
• Ensure meticulous documentation using the EPIC charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and coordinate care plans.
• Participate in code blue situations, applying advanced life support techniques effectively.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Intensive Care Unit.
• Proficient in using the EPIC charting system.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in California.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
