Job Summary:
An Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Prescott, Arizona, within a step down unit specializing in cardiovascular and surgical patient care. Candidates will be responsible for managing patients undergoing procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, chest tube management, epidural catheter care, and transvenous pacing, among others. The position requires candidates to bring their license on the first day, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. The shift is a 12-hour day or night schedule, and candidates are expected to work 3 shifts per week, with the possibility of increasing to 4 shifts upon discussion.

Job Details:

• Location: Prescott, AZ
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), days or nights, 3 shifts per week; flexibility for 4 shifts per week at regular rates after discussion
• Schedule: 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Arizona nursing license; Certifications include ACLS and BLS; Minimum of 2 years of experience in a step down or cardiovascular unit; Knowledge of EKG, IV cardiac medication administration, peritoneal dialysis, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, and arterial or venous sheath care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Float to the ICU preferred; float to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry required; experience with arterial lines and sheath pulls.
• Equipment Utilized: Cerner EMR, Philips Cardiac Monitors, Telemetry systems, Welch Allyn Vital Signs Monitors, Invasive monitoring devices, Medtronic Pacemakers, Pyxis Med dispenser, Zoll R series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Mistral Air Warming units.
• Unit Details: Fast-paced cardiac and cardiac surgery care including patients from cath lab with or without intervention, post-operative open heart surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, chronic vents, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, BiPAP or CPAP patients, thoracotomies, and renal disease.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Managing patients with complex cardiovascular issues, following facility-specific training and orientation, adhering to dress code of navy scrubs, and demonstrating proficiency in electrocardiogram interpretation.
