Its products include Hivemind autonomy software, V‑BAT and X‑BAT aircraft. With offices and facilities across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia‑Pacific, Shield AI’s technology actively supports operations worldwide. Job Description: The Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for driving, influencing, and achieving EHS process excellence, regulatory compliance, and overall risk reduction throughout Shield AI. This role supports the development and execution of ground‑breaking aircraft engineering, test, production, and maintenance safety programs for the next generation of unmanned airpower. Reporting to the Corporate EHS Manager Program Manager, the position is instrumental in upholding world‑class safety standards and engaging with senior engineering and operations leadership to facilitate continuous safety improvements and risk reduction. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, excels in both independent and team‑driven projects, and is responsive to concerns raised by managers and employees. They possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with keen analytical abilities and attention to detail. This candidate thrives in an environment where exceptional work is encouraged, recognized, and rewarded. Based in Frisco, TX, this position requires occasional regional travel to aircraft test flight locations. What you'll do: Serve as a key advisor and technical expert on EHS and Electrical/HV safety matters, providing guidance on compliance, risk management, and MV/HV safety. Maintain a visible field presence through learning‑focused observations, assurance activities, and regular audits; document findings, oversee adherence to EHS plans, evaluate PPE/safety equipment, and elevate non‑conformances in collaboration with stakeholders. Respond to EHS incidents by analyzing root causes, developing preventive actions, promoting Human & Organizational Performance principles, and delivering detailed findings/recommendations to management and teams. Identify operational gaps and spearhead creative, innovative EHS solutions—applying first‑principles thinking—while collaborating with engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to address electrical and broader safety challenges. Lead EHS meetings to communicate improvements, learnings, performance metrics, and best practices; actively engage in field activities to educate, train, and empower teams on risk minimization aligned with Shield AI’s vision and values. Continuously improve safety protocols for the Frisco, TX production facility aircraft builds and vehicle tests, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, regulatory requirements, and industry advancements. Support the development of specialized training on MV/HV electrical safety, lifting/rigging equipment, chemical safety management, and other safety programs while staying updated on emerging regulations to drive innovation. Required qualifications: Proven track record of supporting engineering teams in fast‑paced, high‑performance environments, with at least 3+ years of hands‑on experience in Aerospace, Automotive, and/or Construction environments. Proficient in developing and implementing safety programs compliant with regulatory requirements, a deep understanding of Electrical Standards (OSHA, NFPA 70‑E), and practical experience with energized equipment is a plus. Capable of adapting to a fast‑paced, globally expanding organization using a ‘firstprinciples’ approach, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting across senior management, regulators, and production staff. Excellent interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, problem‑solving expertise, the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment, and the ability to work independently and as a proactive, creative team player. Proven skills in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects and assignments with accountability for outcomes, including experience in training and educating employees in EHS initiatives. Demonstrated experience in applying governmental and regulatory EHS regulations in various settings, strong problem‑solving abilities, effective relationship‑building and influencing skills at all management levels, and proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite. Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 a year Full‑time regular employee offer package: Pay within range listed + Bonus + Benefits + Equity. Temporary employee offer package: Pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment).
