This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as a Discipline Lead Material Controller on assigned projects of difficult complexity. Displays advanced knowledge of Fluor’s practices and guidelines. • Has basic understanding of the development of project estimates and project baselines. • Understands project execution including Change Management and how it affects the changes in material quantities. • Advise on project Forecasting. • Has the ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) other discipline drawings, and manufacturer’s catalog data. • Provide procurement and expediting support and expediting in conformance with project requirements. • Keeps the Project Discipline Engineer/Material Control Manager informed of the status of materials. • Other duties as assigned.Basic Job Requirements• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsPreferred QualificationsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
