Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and current AWHONN/NRP certifications.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every team member works an equitable number of weekend shifts per schedule period
• Floating required 0-3 times per month, limited to helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type work within OB
• 26-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, with L&D or LDRP experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• EFM certification may be met through intermediate AWHONN or Relias/Gnosis
• Experience with labor and delivery management, including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
• Experience administering medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessment
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• Epic experience preferred (1 year)
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor within the past 2 years

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for laboring and postpartum patients following professional nursing standards
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including physicians, CNAs, and support staff
• Document patient care according to established healthcare record standards
• Delegate care appropriately based on team member education, credentials, and competence
• Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
• Start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks if AK license is pending at time of offer
