Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and modernize Drupal-basedwebsites and digital platforms. Build and customize Drupal modules, themes, contenttypes, taxonomies, views, blocks, menus, workflows, and related sitecomponents. Perform Drupal core and contributed module updates,security patches, and version migrations, including Drupal 7 to Drupal9/10/11. Integrate Drupal websites with enterprise systems,APIs, analytics platforms, and third-party services. Ensure web deliverables comply with Section 508, WCAG2.1 AA, and applicable web standards. Apply web security best practices, including inputsanitization, output escaping, access checks, secure file upload handling,CSRF protection, and trusted host configuration. Use Twig template overrides, preprocessing, themehooks, and the Drupal Libraries API to produce clean, valid, maintainableoutput. Configure and administer Drupal content types,fields, vocabularies, view modes, form/display modes, URL aliases,redirects, media libraries, image styles, and responsive image styles. Develop and manage Drupal configuration workflows,including config export/import and environment-specific configurationhandling. Collaborate with project managers, UX designers,content strategists, technical teams, QA teams, and business stakeholders. Provide Tier 3 production support, troubleshootcomplex issues, and participate in deployment activities, includingoccasional after-hours work. Produce technical documentation, code comments,operational runbooks, user-facing instructions, and other supportingmaterials. Follow Git workflows, Drupal coding standards, codereview practices, and established development guidelines. Requirements Required Qualifications 16+ years of experience performing specialized oradvanced programming and technical development for websites orinternet-based platforms. At least 3 years of hands-on Drupal developmentexperience, including Drupal 7 and Drupal 9, 10, or 11. Strong command of semantic HTML5, accessible markup,forms, tables, headings, sectioning elements, and SEO-related markup. Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508accessibility requirements, including ARIA, keyboard navigation, focusmanagement, alt text, and accessible form labeling. Strong Drupal administration and configurationexperience, including content types, fields, vocabularies, views, blocks,menus, permissions, workflows, redirects, media management, andconfiguration management. Strong Drupal theming experience using Twig, templatesuggestions, preprocessing, theme hooks, base themes, component-basedtheming, and responsive design practices. Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, andMySQL/MariaDB. Experience with local development environments suchas Lando, DDEV, Docksal, or similar tools. Ability to write clear technical documentation thatcan be followed by both technical and non-technical users. Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, communication,and collaboration skills. Familiarity with Acquia Cloud, Pantheon, AWS, orsimilar hosting environments. Prior experience supporting government web platforms. Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker,GitHub Actions, Acquia Pipelines, BLT, or similar deployment tooling.
