Role Description The Service Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bakersfield, CA, responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance and service operations for assigned properties. This role coordinates, schedules, and inspects maintenance work, ensuring timely completion of service requests and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Service Manager leads and supports maintenance staff, manages vendor relationships, and monitors inventory of tools and supplies. This position collaborates closely with property management and residents to resolve issues, maintain building systems, and support preventive maintenance programs. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, assisting with budget planning for maintenance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in property maintenance or facilities management, including coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance. Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to train, supervise, and support maintenance personnel. Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Effective communication and customer service abilities to work with residents, team members, and vendors in a professional manner. Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural) and familiarity with safety standards and regulations. Proficiency with maintenance tracking software or property management systems, and comfort using email and standard office applications. Ability to work on-site in Bakersfield, CA, including occasional evenings or weekends as operational needs require.
