Microsoft Windows Field Deployment Technician As a Microsoft Windows Field Deployment Technician on our project, you will support the VA’s EHR deployment and training initiative. In this role you will deploy, image, and set up PCs, laptops, docking stations, monitors, printers, scanners, and network connections throughout VA medical center campuses and offsite training centers. The position emphasizes strong technical skills and high-level customer service. Your responsibilities include unboxing, configuring, installing, and removing equipment, repackaging hardware for shipment, and setting up training site equipment to meet current VA image standards, security scans, Active Directory, and peripheral requirements. You will work on-site at Veterans Administration Medical Centers and offsite locations, with daytime hours, and may need to work evenings, occasional weekends, and travel to other sites as required. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year experience in imaging and installing computer equipment Ability to unpack/re-pack, move, and install pallets of IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds without restriction Must have personal transportation available during work hours Ability to traverse campus and training sites, transporting equipment to office buildings, moving through desks and server closets while stooping, crouching, and reaching to set up or remove computers and pull cords Ability to push carts carrying equipment Experience with hardware and software support, troubleshooting, system imaging, hardware break‑fix support (laptops, desktops, printers), refresh, upgrade, and deployment projects, and excellent customer service skills Experience with routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs Experience troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks, including high‑availability systems Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes, and ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service HS diploma or GED and 8 years of professional experience in lieu of a degree, or a bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, EE, IS and at least 1 year of experience Nice to Have Experience with the ServiceNow ticketing system Experience with the VA Public Trust clearance Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop deployments Experience as IT helpdesk Tier 1 or Tier 2 Benefits Paid PTO and sick leave Paid Federal Government holidays 100% medical premium for employee 100% dental and vision coverage 100% paid life, short- and long-term disability insurance for employee 401(k) plan Equal Opportunity Employer We do not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristics protected by law.
