Assistant Front End Manager

Pay Range: $19.00- $25.50

As an Assistant Front End Manager , you’ll help lead one of the busiest and most customer-focused areas of the store. You’ll support the Customer Service Manager in overseeing Front End operations, including checkout, customer service, bottle return, Front End merchandising, and the cleanliness and appearance of key customer and teammate areas.

You’ll coach and support Front End associates, help manage daily operations, and ensure company policies, programs, cash controls, and service standards are consistently followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead & Support the Front End Team

• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Front End.
• Train, supervise, coach, and support cashiers, bottle associates, and service clerks.
• Help schedule associates based on business needs and complete assigned administrative responsibilities.
• Ensure Front End associates consistently follow company policies, procedures, and efficiency standards.
• Communicate company programs, expectations, and operational updates to Front End associates.
• Help associates understand their responsibilities and provide ongoing direction and support.
• Lead by example by maintaining a professional, helpful, and team-focused environment

Create an Outstanding Customer Experience

• Ensure customers consistently receive fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service.
• Encourage associates to smile, make eye contact, and create a welcoming checkout experience.
• Ensure associates ask customers for their AdvantEdge Card as required
• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Help maintain efficient checkout operations and respond to changing customer traffic throughout the day.

Oversee Front End Operations

• Help oversee customer checkout operations, including registers, scanning, and service functions.
• Support the operation and appearance of the bottle return area.
• Help ensure the break room, restrooms, parking lot, sidewalk, and other assigned Front End areas are properly maintained.
• Ensure Front End areas are neat, clean, organized, safe, and in compliance with company and state sanitation requirements.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
• Ensure adequate supplies are available to operate the Front End while supporting expense-control goals.
• Ensure Front End merchandising racks have appropriate merchandise levels and are maintained in a neat and organized condition.
• Ensure pricing errors are recorded accurately and on a timely basis.

Maintain Cash Controls & Accuracy

• Maintain cashier controls and security in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure established cash-control and over/short policies are consistently followed.
• Help maintain accurate control of cash and other forms of payment collected at registers.
• Maintain detailed and accurate cashier logbooks and other required records to support audit and company requirements.
• Monitor register activity and help ensure transactions are completed accurately.
• Assist the Customer Service Manager in monitoring Front End expenses, including payroll and cashier over/shorts

Support Shrink, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure associates understand shrink-related items and appropriate shrink-control procedures.
• Help protect company assets by consistently following Front End security and loss-prevention procedures.
• Ensure Front End associates follow company safety, sanitation, and operational policies.
• Consistently work within company 5S efficiency standards.
• Maintain safe and organized work areas for customers and associates.
• Identify and promptly address or report safety, sanitation, equipment, security, or operational concerns.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Satisfactory performance reviews.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to manage and support others while demonstrating follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic literacy skills.
• Basic computer skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related experience.
