As our Yard Manager / Driver / Mechanic, you'll be responsible for keeping the yard organized, ensuring equipment and materials get to job sites on time, and maintaining the fleet and machinery that our crews depend on. No two days are the same — and that's exactly what makes this role critical.Yard ManagementOversee the daily organization and cleanliness of the yard and storage areasManage inventory of tools, materials, and equipment — tracking stock levels and flagging shortagesReceive and verify incoming material deliveries against purchase ordersStage and prepare equipment, tools, and materials for upcoming job sitesCoordinate with project managers and the office team on daily yard needsEnsure proper storage and handling of plants, soils, materials, and chemicalsMaintain a safe, orderly yard environment in compliance with company and OSHA standardsDriving & DeliveriesTransport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites throughout Southern CaliforniaOperate trucks, trailers, and other company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic lawsPerform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logsCoordinate delivery schedules with field supervisors and project managersPick up materials from suppliers and nurseries as neededLoading and unloading of equipment and materialsEquipment & Fleet MaintenancePerform routine preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, and landscape equipment (oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, tires)Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on mowers, skid steers, trenchers, irrigation equipment, and other landscape machineryConduct regular inspections of the fleet and flag issues before they become breakdownsMaintain accurate maintenance logs and service records for all vehicles and equipmentCoordinate with outside vendors and repair shops for work beyond in-house capabilityManage a basic parts inventory and order supplies as neededEnsure all equipment is clean, fueled, and ready for the field each dayQualificationsRequired3+ years of experience in a similar yard, fleet, or equipment maintenance roleHands-on mechanical experience with small engines and/or heavy equipmentAbility to safely operate trucks and trailersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectivelyPhysical ability to lift, load, and work in outdoor conditionsValid California Class A driver's license with a clean driving record (required)PreferredExperience in the landscape or construction industryBilingual English/SpanishFamiliarity with landscape equipment brandsWho You AreA self-starter who takes ownership of their space and responsibilitiesMechanically inclined with a "fix it right the first time" mindsetReliable, punctual, and accountableA team player who communicates well with field crews and office staffCalm under pressure and able to adapt when priorities shiftTakes pride in a well-run yard and well-maintained equipment #J-18808-Ljbffr PEAK FINANCIAL PARTNERS INC
